Visit Conil


Conil offers 16kms of some of the most beautiful coastline in Europe.  Un spoilt beaches, hidden bays, cliffs and pine forests. The climate is Mediterranean without extremes of temperature in winter or summer. The average annual temperature is 17°C. With 3,200 hours of sun and an average rainfall of 700mm p.a.

To understand more of the life of the Conil and her people pass by the daily afternoon fruit and vegetable auction held in the Cooperative Agricola Nuestra Sra. De las Virtudes, these auctions supply produce for the majority of regional supermarkets. Conil Tomatoes take a bow!

There is an also a daily auction at the Conil port. You can watch the small boats arriving and unloading their catch. The auction is a falling price one.

In the pedestrian Street calle Cadiz you can find some typical bars such as “El Sopa” and “Juan Maria” to check out the local tapas. Try the tapas dish they entered in the annualcompetitioncalled “La ruta del atún de almadraba”. Should you have time savour the Carpaccio de Atún in the restaurant “Francisco de la Fontanilla” or the “Tartar de Atún” in the nearby “La Ola” .

Meat eaters are very well catered for at the “Blanco y Verde” restaurant where they also serve a very good dish called “Choquitos al Ajillo” Which are tender pieces of squid cooked in garlic and wine from Jerez.

The calle Peñon is well know for its night life and bars that serve cocktails, close by is the Bar La Tertulia that is a must to visit as the interior is a wonderfully conserved patio open to the skies.
